New York Theological Seminary is committed to the mission of preparing the next generation of faith and thought leaders to engage relevant, restorative and revolutionary ministry.

Three months ago I would have never imagine myself working at a seminary. Yet, last month I resigned from my secured job at UVa, packed up 2 suitcases and moved into a single room to start my job at New York Theological Seminary. As a sociologist of religion I am well aware of the challenges of Christianity in America and the precariousness of the moment. It made no sense to leave a stable job at a prestigious institution to come work at a small seminary. But the ways of the Kingdom makes no sense on earth. The call was so clear that to deny it would have been a sin.

NYTS is an institution where the once-marginalized are at the center. It is a seminary that values diversity and pluralism thrives. People at different idological spectrum work side by side towards the same mission. It's a living example of the Church.

I am excited to invite you to participate in the Seminary's "20/20 in 20" campaign. I'm asking each of you to give a gift to support the education of future faith leaders.
